Prayer For Strength

Life can come at us with unexpected surprises. They can sometimes be good but other times, not so good. No matter what it is that we’re facing, we have a heavenly Father whom we can run to for strength. While the weight of whatever it is that brings us down may be heavy, we need to realize that God has given us the tool to overcome through His living word and our relationship with Him. So let’s take this time to dedicate a prayer for strength, whether that is for yourself or for a loved one.

Bible Verses For Strength

Before we get started, let us take a cue from King David and meditate on the psalms.

God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
- Psalm 46: 1-3 (NIV)

Prayer For Strength

Heavenly Father, thank you that you are my refuge and strength. You are the strong tower that I can run to. And in You, I know I can find the strength I never knew I had. I know You’re not surprised or caught off-guard by what is happening. While I cannot control anything beyond how I respond, I know I can fully trust You no matter how crazy it seems to get.

I want to redeclare how good You are and remind myself that You have never failed me. And I stand on your promise that You use ALL things for good as You say in Romans 8:28. Empower me in my weakest moments as they come and remind me Whose I am. I bless Your name as I walk through this storm, fixing my eyes on You. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
